पूज्यपाद नैष्ठिक ब्रह्मचारी श्री जीवनदत्त जी महाराज
परिचय | Who He Was
नरवर धाम का अस्तित्व जिस एक व्यक्तित्व की तपस्या, त्याग और दृष्टि का परिणाम है — वे हैं पूज्यपाद नैष्ठिक ब्रह्मचारी श्री जीवनदत्त जी महाराज। वे आजीवन ब्रह्मचारी थे, जिन्होंने अपना सम्पूर्ण जीवन वैदिक शिक्षा और संस्था की सेवा में समर्पित कर दिया।
The existence of Narwar Dham is the result of the tapasya, renunciation and vision of one person — Pujyapad Naishthik Brahmachari Shri Jeevan Datt Ji Maharaj. He was a lifelong celibate who devoted his entire life to Vedic learning and the service of the institution he founded.
दैनिकचर्या | Daily Practice
जगद्गुरु शंकराचार्य स्वामी श्रीकृष्णबोधाश्रमजी महाराज, ज्योतिर्मठ, बदरिकाश्रम ने इस ग्रन्थ के आशीर्वाद में लिखा है —

उनकी दैनिकचर्या वास्तव में प्राचीन नैतिक ब्रह्मचारियों की थी। वे नित्य प्रात: ४ बजे उठते और १२ बजे तक गायत्री जप करते थे। धर्म के प्रति उनकी अटूट आस्था थी।
The Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath, Badrikashram, wrote in the Granth's Aashirvaad: 'His daily routine was truly that of the ancient naishthik brahmacharis. He rose each day at four in the morning and performed Gayatri japa until noon. His devotion to Dharma was unwavering.'
संस्था की स्थापना | The Founding of the Institution
सन् १९०३ में उन्होंने श्री साङ्गवेद महाविद्यालय की स्थापना की। यह महाविद्यालय सम्पूर्णानन्द संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय, वाराणसी से सम्बद्ध है।
In 1903, he established Shri Sangved Mahavidyalaya — affiliated with Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi.
उन्होंने अपने सङ्कुलमात्र से ऐसी संस्था को जन्म दिया जो उनकी वास्तविक स्मृति है।

विद्यालय की विरासत | Legacy of the Vidyalaya
विद्वान् अध्यापकों की भाँति पश्चिम उत्तर प्रदेश में कोई भी एक नगर, उपनगर ऐसा नहीं मिलेगा जहाँ पर नरवर का स्नातक न हो।

In all of western Uttar Pradesh, there is not a single city or town where a graduate of Narwar Vidyalaya is not found.
यह विद्यालय महाराजश्री की कीति-पताका का समुच्छित पुष्टदण्ड है, उनकी परोपकार तथा सेवाभावना का साकार रूप है।
This Vidyalaya is the sturdy staff of Maharajshri's flag of fame — the embodied form of his philanthropy and spirit of service.
एक चमत्कारिक प्रसंग | A Remembered Incident
महाराजश्री की आज्ञा आश्रम में वेदवाक्य मानी जाती थी।
Dr. Vachaspati Pandey of the Sanskrit Vibhag, Agra College, narrated the following: During preparations for a Brahmabhojan at the Ashram, a shortage of ghee was reported. Maharajshri, in a state of deep composure, instructed the brahmacharis to go to the Ganga and fill vessels with the white-visible flowing current. They obeyed. It is said that by the time they returned, the requirement was fulfilled — and in gratitude, exactly as many tins of ghee were offered back to the Ganga as the number of vessels of Ganga-water that had been brought.
व्यक्तित्व | A Witness Account
जगद्गुरु शंकराचार्य ने लिखा — उनके साथ बम्बई से रामेश्वर की यात्रा कार द्वारा हुई। उस यात्रा में कई दिन साथ रहने का अवसर आया। उनको आदि से अन्त तक एक स्थित और समान रूप में देखा।
The Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath wrote: 'I travelled with him by car from Bombay to Rameshwar. We spent many days together on that journey. I observed him from beginning to end — always the same, always still.'
स्मृति-ग्रन्थ | The Memorial Volume
सन् १९७४ में, उनके महाप्रयाण के पश्चात्, महाराजश्री जीवनदत्त स्मृति-ग्रन्थ समिति, फिरोज़ाबाद ने उनके जीवन और कृतित्व पर एक स्मृति-ग्रन्थ प्रकाशित किया — जिसमें ब्रह्मलीन पं॰ विजय प्रकाश शर्मा जी की संस्कृत रचनाएँ, जगद्गुरु शंकराचार्य का आशीर्वाद, और देशभर के विद्वानों के संस्मरण संकलित हैं।
In 1974, after his passing, the Jeevan Datt Smriti Granth Samiti, Firozabad published a memorial volume — containing Sanskrit compositions by Brahmleen Pt. Vijay Prakash Sharma Ji, the Aashirvaad of Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath, and reminiscences of scholars from across India.
